We return to Mongolia ahead of a 155-mile ultramarathon and drive a borrowed truck into the wilderness, battling storms and rough dirt tracks while searching for the remote Blue Lake. After finding the lake privatized and surrounded by tourist huts, we look for a wilder campsite, build a fire, and spend the night in a rooftop tent until a powerful storm forces us into the truck. The next morning, we visit the area believed to be Chinggis Khan’s birthplace, meditate, and reflect on freedom and our connection with nature.
