I Visited The World’s Largest Open Air Crack Market

We visited Cracolândia in São Paulo with nonprofit volunteers who provide meals and support to people experiencing homelessness and addiction. We walked through the area, observed open drug use and severe living conditions, and spoke with police officers, residents, and volunteers about the dangers and lack of effective support. We left saddened by what we saw but determined to highlight the need for more meaningful help and long-term solutions.
