We explored Akihabara, Tokyo’s anime district, and looked at unusual vending machines selling everything from meals and snacks to insects and bear meat. We visited a maid café to see how the themed cafés work and learned that the experience is mainly about chatting and entertainment. We also rented a private internet café room where we could sleep, charge our phones, and spend the night after the trains stopped running.
