Inside America's Anorexic Cult (No Eating)

We traveled to Tennessee to investigate Gwen Shamblin’s Remnant Fellowship Church and its blend of religious control and extreme weight-loss teachings. We met her son Michael and a former security guard, who described surveillance, isolation, threats, member files, and the church’s rigid leadership. We also visited locations connected to Weigh Down and explored allegations that the movement encouraged fasting, eating disorders, and equating thinness with closeness to God.
