Inside Japan’s Most Luxurious $100,000,000 Abandoned Hotel

We explored Ikishima Island, a former coal-mining community that once housed thousands of people and is now almost entirely abandoned, while discovering its remarkably preserved homes, streets, and a school with only three students. We then visited the abandoned Hachijo Royal Hotel, once promoted as the Hawaii of Japan, and explored its preserved rooms, belongings, and decaying facilities. Throughout the journey, we reflected on how nature is gradually reclaiming these places and the communities that once thrived there.
