Inside the Cities of Karbala and Najaf in Iraq

We explored Karbala, visiting Imam Hussein’s shrine, Al-Ukhaidir Fortress, and trying local dishes such as baqla bil-dihin. We then traveled to Najaf, where we visited the Wadi al-Salam cemetery, the Kufa Mosque, a market producing Najafi agals, and local food shops. We tasted Najafi qeemah and dihin, a rich dessert made with flour, sugar, and ghee.
