Iran Uncovered (Exploring a Remote Area of this Misunderstood Country)

We took a five-hour taxi ride from Ahvaz to Khorramabad through the Zagros Mountains, admiring the snowy peaks and surrounding scenery. We explored Khorramabad, crossed its river, and visited the ancient Falak-ol-Aflak Castle, where we enjoyed views over the city at sunset. We walked through the market, had an inexpensive Iranian dinner, and prepared to continue north toward Tehran.
