Iraq Part 2: Isis Border + Holiest Village (no shoes allowed)

We visit Lalish, the holiest village in the Yazidi faith, where we walk barefoot through the temples and learn about Yazidi traditions and history. We then travel to a former frontline near Mosul, seeing the border between Kurdish Peshmerga forces and ISIS-held territory, as well as the destruction left by the fighting. We end the day by dressing in traditional Kurdish clothing, having dinner with our guide’s family, and staying at their home before our early flight.
