Is South Korea the Safest Country in the World?

We explain why we consider South Korea one of the safest and most peaceful countries in the world, highlighting its low crime rate, strict gun policy, and how comfortable we felt walking alone at night. We conduct a social experiment by leaving a purse on the metro and at a busy station, where nobody steals it and a woman returns it to lost and found. We conclude that South Korea’s respect for others places it alongside Japan and Taiwan as one of the safest countries in the world.
