Is This the End of My Expedition? Crazy Breakdown

We crossed Mauritania’s desert tracks, visited a beautiful guelta oasis, met local women, and drove through steep canyon terrain in our truck, Odyssey. After the gearbox shifted and began making alarming noises, we drove seven hours to Nouakchott, where mechanics removed and reattached the gearbox. Although several problems remained with the truck, we chose to return to the desert for one last adventure and prepared for a challenging 300- to 350-mile crossing.
