Killing Fields, Phnom Penh, Cambodia

We travel by tuk-tuk to the Killing Fields of Choeung Ek in Phnom Penh to learn about the atrocities committed by the Khmer Rouge between 1975 and 1979. We discuss the mass killings, forced labor, starvation, disease, and the methods used to conceal the victims’ deaths. We also see the memorial containing skulls from the site and reflect on the importance of remembering this history.
