Las Vegas of Eastern Europe - Georgia

We walk from our accommodation through Batumi toward the Black Sea, exploring the city and stopping for a beer and a chicken shawarma made by Turkish hosts. We see a striking mix of modern towers, old residential buildings, casinos, and apparently abandoned construction, while discussing the government’s major investment in the waterfront. After walking 19.73 kilometers around the city, we return to the guest house as heavy rain prevents us from experiencing Batumi at night.
