Lebanon is Falling - Economic Disaster in Middle East

We explored Beirut’s explosion site and spoke with a survivor who described the blast, his injuries, the destruction of his home, and the continuing economic hardship. We then traveled to Saida, where we met local residents, a butcher, and a 93-year-old market vendor to hear how inflation, shortages, COVID-19, and the banking collapse have affected their lives. We also discussed Lebanon’s deepening humanitarian crisis and the uncertain future facing its people.
