Living 88 Years in a Radioactive Zone

We explored the abandoned kindergarten and other homes in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone before stopping at a local grocery store to buy food for Baba Ganya. We then visited her home, shared homemade pickles, potatoes, pork fat, and moonshine, and heard about her life and the evacuation after the disaster. We reflected on why her connection to her family home remains stronger than the dangers of radioactive contamination.
