Manaus, Brazil (Huge City in Amazon of 2 Million People)

We explored Manaus, the hub of the Amazon, visiting a busy riverside market and meeting local traders and fishermen. We traveled by boat along the Amazon River to visit José’s remote floating home, where we learned about life, fishing, piranhas, crocodiles, and the dangers of traveling between villages. We also saw the Meeting of the Waters, Manaus’s industrial free-trade zone, its port, and the contrasting neighborhoods around the city.
