Mesa Verde Cliff Dwelling Tour

We explore Mesa Verde, where Ancestral Pueblo people lived from around AD 600 to the 1300s, and join a park ranger on a tour through the cliff dwellings. We descend steep paths, climb ladders, and crawl through narrow tunnels while learning about life in Soda Canyon and the area's population at its peak. We also consider theories about why the people left Mesa Verde, including the possibility that they exhausted the area's natural resources, while noting that Pueblo communities continue to use kivas today.
