My Crazy Roadtrip In Iraq As A Female Traveller

We explored Iraqi Kurdistan, visiting the ancient Mar Mattai monastery near Mosul and staying with a welcoming Kurdish host family. We toured Saddam Hussein’s ruined palace, stopped at a traditional tea house, admired the mountain village of Amedi, and visited Halabja’s pomegranate festival. We ended the road trip in Sulaymaniyah at a party in an abandoned warehouse.
