My First 24 Hours in Baghdad, Iraq

We traveled from Erbil to Baghdad, navigated immigration and a late-night taxi ride, and began exploring the city with Alvaro and our local guide. We visited bustling markets, the cultural and literary heart of Baghdad, the Tigris River, an old church, and a bird market while learning about the city's history and meeting hospitable locals. We finished the day at the Imam Kadhim shrine, a major Shia religious site, and tried traditional Iraqi sweets.
