Risking Her Life to Play Sports in Afghanistan

We travel to Bamiyan, Afghanistan, where we meet Nazima Khairzad, one of the country’s few female athletes, and learn about her family, her passion for skiing, and the threats she has faced. We hike for several hours up a mountain with Nazima and other skiers before skiing back down through the snow. We also hear about the Bamyan Ski Club, Nazima’s medal in an international competition, and her hopes of studying computer science and helping other girls pursue their goals.
