We visited the Hippodrome in Kyrgyzstan on day four of the World Nomad Games to watch kok boru, a rough horseback sport played with a goat carcass. We watched Kyrgyzstan’s match get canceled, saw Kazakhstan defeat the U.S. team, and experienced the intense atmosphere from the sidelines. We also watched horse wrestling and learned how competitors try to pull each other from their horses using belts.
