Saddam Hussein's Palace (Not what we expected)

We explored Erbil and then traveled into the Gara Mountains to see one of Saddam Hussein's former palaces, but snow prevented us from reaching the top. Instead, we had a snowball fight with local visitors, ate beans, and visited another ruined palace while learning about its history. We also visited the holy town of Lalish and passed a checkpoint near the former front line with ISIS.
