Salvador (Brazil's unreal African City of 4 million people)

We explore Salvador, visiting the Solar do Unhão community beneath an overpass and learning about residents’ lives connected to fishing and tourism. We tour Feira de São Joaquim, try acarajé and jatobá liqueur, and see the favelas, historic buildings, Solar Amado Bahia, and the Lacerda Elevator. We then visit the Upper City and Pelourinho, taking in views of the Bay of All Saints while highlighting Salvador’s cultural richness and contrasts with poverty and crime.
