She Cooks Your Leftover McDonald’s (For Profit)

We travel through Tondo in Manila to meet Evelyn, who collects discarded McDonald’s and Jollibee food, cleans it, cooks it, and sells it as pagpag. We learn how this inexpensive food supports local families and how Evelyn built a successful business that helped send her children to college. We speak with residents about the tradition and taste of pagpag, while we observe the preparation and some of our companions try the finished dishes.
