Solo On The World's Longest Train Journey

We begin in St. Petersburg and board a train east toward Perm, starting a journey across Russia to the Pacific Ocean. Along the way, we explore the train, meet Russian passengers, share food and vodka, and make brief stops in places including Kirov, Glazov, and Belazina. We explain that Perm is our first destination because we want to visit a preserved gulag museum and remember the people who were forced to make journeys like this one.
