Solo On Ukraine's Eastern Front

We returned to Ukraine after three years and traveled from Kyiv toward the war-torn north and east, visiting Chernihiv and later Kryvyi Rih. We spoke with local residents, saw destroyed buildings and the site where 18 people were killed while queuing for bread, and witnessed memorials to those lost in the war. In Kryvyi Rih, we explored areas damaged by missile attacks, including a destroyed hotel and a children's playground where several children died.
