Solo Through War-Torn Donbass

We travel through the Donbas, taking the Dnipro metro and buses to reach towns near the front lines, including Selidove, Avdiivka, Bakhmut and Lysychansk. We see abandoned factories, damaged homes and apartment blocks, speak with local residents about the war, and observe the continuing military presence. After a difficult journey through snow and muddy roads, we find a large Soviet mosaic on a cultural center in Lysychansk and celebrate with Soviet champagne.
