Spending 13 Days Alone in Syria (During the War)

We began our journey in Damascus, exploring the old city, the Umayyad Mosque, Azam Palace, markets, local food, and the city’s affordable yellow taxis. We met welcoming residents, including elderly mosaic makers, and experienced Syrian hospitality, cuisine, culture, and everyday life. We then traveled from Damascus to visit the Crak des Chevaliers after a security issue prevented us from visiting Palmyra.
