Taking a Syrian Family Back Home After Dictatorship Fell (fled 14 years ago)

We travel with Tarek, his mother Alia, and his wife from Beirut into Syria, overcoming snowy roads and a difficult border crossing before reaching Damascus. We explore the city, meet welcoming residents, learn more about Tarek's family and displacement, and experience local food and a traditional hammam. We finally visit the family's apartment, which remained intact for 14 years, and hear their hopes for justice, equality, safety, and the return of Syrians living abroad.
