Taking My Jewish Parents to a Muslim Country

We took my parents on their first trip to a Muslim-majority country, exploring Istanbul with our local friend Anil. We visited Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque, sampled Turkish food and desserts, shopped at the Grand Bazaar, and crossed by ferry to the Asian side of the city. We then traveled south to Kilis near the Syrian border and continued to Antakya, where we explored historic streets, ate künefe, and visited a hotel built over ancient ruins.
