The Bam: Russia's Unknown Trans-Siberian Train

We travel eastward along the Baikal-Amur Mainline from Tayshet, learning about its Soviet-era construction, strategic purpose, and the people who built the railway towns. We stop in Severobaikalsk, explore its station and cultural landmarks, visit the shores of Lake Baikal, and continue through Novi Uoyan to Tynda. Along the way, we ride the trains, meet local residents and railway workers, and see the remote landscapes and communities created by the BAM.
