The Coronavirus Teacher (he can't go home...)

We meet Jake in Panama City and hear how he left China for a Bali vacation just as the coronavirus outbreak began, leaving him unable to return to his apartment, belongings, or teaching job in Yangzhou. We discuss his online-teaching options, the $30-a-day stipend he receives, and his plans to travel through Panama, Costa Rica, Washington, D.C., and possibly Central and South America. We also visit Panama’s Casco Viejo and talk about how the outbreak has affected travel and hospitality workers.
