The Dark Side of America - Extreme Poverty and Drugs on the Streets

We visit Skid Row in downtown Los Angeles and compare its extreme poverty with the wealth of nearby Hollywood. We hear from homeless residents, local workers, and organizations about addiction, mental illness, crime, government spending, and the challenges of finding housing and support. We also tour a nonprofit facility offering food, services, shelter, and drug-recovery programs while examining why the crisis continues.
