The Forgotten Pyramids Of Sudan (better than Egypt)

We drove north from Khartoum to Meroë and rode camels through the desert to explore the ancient pyramids of the Kingdom of Kush. We learned about the pyramids’ history as royal tombs, saw their distinctive steep shapes and original carvings, and experienced the site almost completely alone. We also found the Sudanese people welcoming and the visit deeply memorable.
