We travelled from Almaty across Kazakhstan by train and bus before walking through the desert toward the Baikonur Cosmodrome in search of the Buran. After a difficult overnight trek, we reached the abandoned hangar and explored the Buran spacecraft and the surrounding launch facilities. We were eventually arrested by Russian internal police, taken to Baikonur, and fined before being released.
