The Hyena Men in Nigeria, the Strangest in the World

We traveled from Lagos to Kano in northern Nigeria to meet the hyena men and learn about their unusual tradition of raising hyenas and other animals. We watched village performances involving hyenas, snakes, baboons, and traditional healing practices, and spoke with the performers about their culture and livelihoods. We also witnessed extraordinary physical feats and supported the village by paying for the shows.
