The Japan You Never Knew Existed

We travel by road from Tokyo across Japan, visiting Mount Fuji, Matsumoto Castle and convenience stores before reaching the western coastal town of Itoigawa. We explore its abandoned buildings, learn about the abduction of Megumi Yokota, meet local people and visit a shrine and an abandoned love hotel. We end the day staying in a love hotel and reflecting on this less polished side of Japan.
