The Man Of Mogadishu (why he never left)

We visited the Peace Hotel in Mogadishu and met Bashir Osman, who told us why he stayed in Somalia through the civil war and built a hotel there. We learned about the challenges of running the hotel, including providing security, power, water, medical care, and jobs for hundreds of people. We also heard Bashir’s message that Mogadishu is rebuilding and welcomed visitors, and we met local people who described life in the city.
