The Shocking Life of Africa’s Extreme Tribes (Ethiopia)

We travel through Ethiopia’s Omo Valley, navigating difficult roads from Jinka to meet the Mursi, Bena, and Hamer communities and learn about their traditions, including lip plates, scarification, clothing, markets, and local beer. We spend time with the Hamer people during a coffee ceremony before traveling to a village for a bull-jumping celebration. We witness singing, dancing, communal food and drink, ritual whipping, and the ceremony that marks a young man’s transition into adulthood.
