The Silver City (Taxco, Mexico)

We explored Taxco, a picturesque mountain town near Mexico City, taking in its white buildings, tiled rooftops, historic church, street vendors, rooftop cafés, and distinctive white taxis. We learned about the town’s silver-trading history, visited numerous silver shops and markets, and watched a craftsman make jewelry by hand. We finished the day recommending Taxco as an off-the-beaten-path day trip from Mexico City.
