We take a speedboat to Maafushi, stay in an affordable guesthouse, and explore local island life with Ishan and Soti despite the rainy weather. We visit cafes and mosques, try fresh coconuts, and learn how tourism and local guesthouses have developed on the island. During Ramadan, we witness iftar at the main mosque and share a home-cooked meal with locals, spending about $40 for the day.
