This Epic Lake in Pakistan Will Soon Disappear - Attabad Lake

We visit Attabad Lake in northern Pakistan and explain how a massive 2010 landslide blocked the river, flooded the valley, and submerged a village, farms, trees, roads, and parts of the Karakoram Highway and ancient Silk Road. We learn how locals used boats to transport people, animals, and vehicles across the new lake. We also steer a boat and see the submerged trees and receding water levels that may eventually reveal the buried village.
