Trying to Survive a Shepherd Life in the Mountains

We spend three days living with the Petru family at a remote sheep station in the mountains of Romania, helping milk the sheep and preparing meals with fresh local ingredients. We follow the flock, learn about the shepherds’ daily work, make traditional cheese, and meet the family while their dogs protect the herd. We finish with a mountain dinner and party before reflecting on the hard work and joy of preserving this traditional way of life.
