Visiting a 2,000 Year Old Tribe in Sumatra

We traveled deep into the jungles of West Sumatra and spent three days living with a Mentawai family on the island of Siberut. We followed their daily life, learned how they process sago, experienced their jungle bathroom, tried sago and grilled grubs, and shared meals with them. We also joined the women on a fishing trip and learned about Mentawai traditions, including tattoos, sharpened teeth, and hunting with poison arrows.
