Walking Streets of Madagascar's Biggest Slum

We explored Ankuru Drano, a working-class neighborhood in Antananarivo, where families live alongside polluted waterways, inadequate sanitation, flooding, power cuts, and crime. We visited a local home, learned about the residents' living conditions, and walked through areas contrasting the slums with luxury developments and heavily guarded wealth. We then explored downtown markets, tried local zebu dishes, spoke with vendors, saw people harvesting water hyacinths, and visited new housing developments around the lake.
