Walking the Crazy Streets of Mozambique (beyond words)

We explored downtown Maputo with a local guide, visiting the red-light district, markets, the train station, and neighborhoods affected by poverty and crime. We learned about kidnappings, police mistrust, corruption, and the challenges facing local businesses from residents, a barber, and an elderly woodworker. We also visited Catembe, discussed the controversial bridge built by China, and reflected on the contrast between Mozambique's struggles and its beaches, restaurants, and natural beauty.
