We Drove Our Van 1,461 Miles Across America

We began our first week of full-time van life by repairing our refrigerator and driving from St. Louis toward Estes Park, stopping in Kansas City for the giant shuttlecocks and barbecue. We dealt with electrical problems in the van, then visited the Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve, saw prairie dogs, and drove through small Kansas towns to the Chalk Pyramids. After six days and more than 1,400 miles on the road, we finally reached Estes Park, Colorado, with the Rocky Mountains ahead of us.
