We traveled from Oslo through Tromsø to Svalbard, the remote Arctic archipelago where polar bears roam and the sun disappears for months. We explored Longyearbyen, visited its cafés, shops, and only supermarket, and spoke with residents about living in a place where people cannot be born or buried. We also visited the global seed vault and learned how seeds from around the world are preserved there in case of future disasters.
