What’s it Really Like as a Tourist in Afghanistan

We explored the Buddhas of Bamiyan, learned about their history, visited the local bazaar, had a tailor-made Afghan outfit prepared, and sampled bolani and other local food. We traveled through snowy mountain roads to Band-e Amir National Park, stayed with a local family, and walked across the frozen lake. We also visited a craft market, dressed in traditional Afghan clothes for a photo shoot, and discussed tourism and safety in Bamiyan.
