Where Buddhism Meets Michael Jackson (White Temple)

We explored Wat Rong Khun, the White Temple in Chiang Rai, Thailand, admiring its surreal all-white design and learning that it is still under construction. We saw modern cultural icons such as spaceships, Pikachu, Michael Jackson and Superman alongside skulls, body parts and demons, which symbolize the evils within people. We also visited the temple's golden bathrooms and learned about its artist and the affordable entrance fee.
