We spend a rainy, unplanned day in Siargao, try to visit a church and see huge waves, then return to the resort when the power goes out. While waiting for dinner, we make friends with a German couple and have a meaningful conversation about travel and our countries. Once the power returns, we book the next month of travel from the Philippines through Singapore, Hong Kong, Taipei, Kuala Lumpur, and Yangon.
